Afterschool Program: Read & Create Workshops At Little Luminaries Art Studio, we believe stories and art go hand in hand. Our afterschool Read & Create program is designed to strengthen reading skills while giving children the joy of expressing themselves through art. Each week, students read age-appropriate books filled with exciting characters, themes, and lessons. Guided reading activities help improve vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence. Then, the magic begins—stories are transformed into hands-on art workshops where children bring books to life through painting, drawing, sculpting, collage, and mixed-media design. We make sure there’s tons of fun art-making every session, so children not only learn but also look forward to creating something new each week. This unique approach helps children: Build stronger literacy skills through engaging stories. Develop creativity and critical thinking by turning words into art. Gain confidence in both reading and self-expression. Enjoy after school time filled with learning, laughter, and creativity. To support academics, our program also includes dedicated workbook time at the end of the day. Students work on reading comprehension and math practice, giving them a balance of creativity and skill-building in a structured, supportive setting. We also offer outdoor art time on nice days and occasional field trips to museums, libraries, and cultural spaces for even more inspiration. Led by certified educators and professional artists, Read & Create is the perfect blend of literacy, creativity, and academic growth—where every child develops as both a reader and an artist. Our art program offers a creative, safe, and engaging environment where children can explore and grow through the arts. 🎨 Studio Art Sessions – Hands-on projects in painting, clay, crafts, and design. 🌿 Outdoor Art Time – Children will enjoy drawing and creative workshops outside in the fresh air. 🚌 Field Trips – Enriching experiences at museums, galleries, and nature spaces to inspire creativity. 🤝 Collaborative Learning – Group projects that build teamwork, confidence, and communication skills.
